Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 September 2026

This explains what Jolle collects when you use jolle.in, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

Your account. Your name and email address. A password, stored only as a hash we cannot reverse. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google instead — we never see your Google password.

Your videos. The video files you upload, the transcripts produced from them, and the caption styling you apply.

Billing. If you take a paid plan or buy a top-up pack, the payment is processed by Razorpay. You enter your card, UPI or bank details with Razorpay directly — they never pass through us, and we never receive or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or bank credentials.

What we do keep is the record of the arrangement itself: which plan you are on, whether you pay monthly or yearly, the identifiers Razorpay gives us for your subscription and each payment, the amount and currency, whether each payment succeeded or failed, the dates a subscription started, renewed, was cancelled or ended, and which top-up packs you bought. We need this to know what you have paid for, to apply your plan's limits, and to keep proper accounts.

Because a paid plan renews automatically, Razorpay also holds the standing instruction (the mandate) that lets the renewal be charged. That mandate lives with Razorpay and your bank, not with us — which is also why cancelling is something we ask Razorpay to do rather than something we can simply delete from our own records.

Razorpay handles this data as a data controller in its own right, under its own privacy policy, not only as a processor acting for us.

Usage. Ordinary server logs: IP address, browser, and which pages were requested. These help us keep the service running and secure.

Why we hold it

To run the service: to store your videos, transcribe them, render your exports, apply your plan's limits, take payment, and answer you when you write to us.

Who else sees it

Our transcription provider. The audio from your video is sent to a third-party AI provider to be transcribed, and the text comes back to us.

Our hosting and storage. Your videos are stored with our cloud storage provider, and rendering runs on cloud infrastructure.

Razorpay, for payments.

Our email provider, to deliver account email such as password resets and verification links.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your videos to train AI models.

How long we keep it

Your videos and transcripts stay until you delete them or close your account. Deleting a video removes it from our storage. Closing your account removes your videos and transcripts.

A video uploaded before you sign in is held for at most 24 hours and then deleted if no account claims it.

Billing and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep them, which is longer than the life of your account. Closing your account does not erase them, because we are not permitted to erase them. They are kept only for that purpose, and are not used to contact you or to build a profile of you.

What you can do

You can see and change your account details in your account settings, delete individual videos at any time, and delete your whole account from account settings.

You can cancel a paid plan yourself at any time from Manage Subscription in the app; see the Terms of Service for exactly what cancelling does. Deleting your account cancels any subscription along with it.

If you want a copy of your data, or want it removed, write to hello@jolle.in. Payment records we are legally required to retain are the one thing we may not be able to delete on request.

Security

Traffic to jolle.in is encrypted. Passwords are stored hashed. Access to production systems is limited to the people who run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and will tell you if something happens that affects your data.

Children

Jolle is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and update the date at the top.
