Terms of Service
Last updated: 2 September 2026
These terms cover your use of Jolle at jolle.in. By creating an account or uploading a video, you agree to them.
What Jolle does
Jolle takes a video you upload, transcribes the speech in it, and lets you style, edit and burn captions onto it before exporting a finished file. Transcription is performed by a third-party AI provider. Automatic transcription is not perfect — you are responsible for reviewing the captions before you publish anything.
Your account
You need an account to use Jolle. Keep your password to yourself; anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at hello@jolle.in if you believe someone else has access to it.
You may sign in with Google instead of a password. If you do, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google, and nothing else.
Your content
Your videos remain yours. We do not claim ownership of anything you upload, and we do not use your videos to train models.
You give us permission to store, process and transcode your videos only so far as we need to in order to run the service for you — storing them, transcribing them, and rendering your exports.
You must have the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that you do not have permission to use.
Plans and payment
Jolle has a free plan and paid plans. Paid plans can be taken monthly or yearly. All prices are in Indian rupees and are shown on the pricing section of our home page and on the Manage Subscription screen in the app. Any taxes that apply are shown to you at checkout before you pay.
Each plan has limits — video length, storage, transcription minutes, export resolution. Those limits are enforced by the product and are listed next to each plan.
Who takes the payment
Payments are processed by Razorpay, our payment provider. You enter your card, UPI or other payment details with Razorpay, not with us. We never see, receive or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or bank credentials. What we receive from Razorpay is confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed, and identifiers for the payment and subscription.
Your use of Razorpay's checkout is also subject to Razorpay's own terms and privacy policy.
A paid plan is a recurring subscription
This is the part we want to be completely plain about.
A paid plan renews automatically. When you subscribe, you set up a standing instruction — a mandate — that authorises us, through Razorpay, to charge the same payment method automatically at the start of each billing period, without asking you again each time.
- A monthly plan is charged once a month, on the same date each month.
- A yearly plan is charged once a year, on the same date each year.
The amount charged is the price shown for that plan and billing period at the time you subscribed. Renewals continue until you cancel, your payment method stops working, or we stop offering the plan.
For cards and UPI, Indian rules on recurring payments require that you are told before an automatic charge is taken. Razorpay sends that pre-debit notification to you.
You can hold only one subscription at a time. To move between paid plans, cancel the one you have first; the app will not let you start a second subscription while one is running, so that you cannot be billed twice by accident.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, yourself, from Manage Subscription in the app. You do not need to email us, give a reason, or wait for anyone to approve it.
What happens when you cancel:
- The automatic renewal stops. You will not be charged again.
- You keep your paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for. A monthly plan cancelled mid-month runs to the end of that month; a yearly plan runs to the end of that year.
- When that period ends, your account moves to the free plan. Your videos and transcripts are not deleted by cancelling — only the plan's limits change, so some of what is stored may be above the free plan's limits.
Deleting your account also cancels your subscription, immediately and in full, so that a closed account can never keep being charged.
Refunds
Cancelling stops future charges. It does not refund the period you are already in, and we do not refund part-used months or years.
We will refund you where something has gone wrong on our side, including:
- you were charged more than once for the same period;
- you were charged after you cancelled;
- you were charged for a plan you never received.
Write to hello@jolle.in and we will look into it. Nothing here removes any right to a refund that Indian law gives you regardless.
If a renewal payment fails
If an automatic charge fails, Razorpay may retry it. If it keeps failing, the subscription ends and your account moves to the free plan. We do not delete your videos because a payment failed.
Top-up packs
Top-up packs are extra transcription minutes bought outright. They are a one-time payment, not a subscription — they do not renew, and buying one never sets up a standing instruction.
- Minutes from a top-up do not expire while your account is open.
- Your plan's own monthly minutes are used before your top-up minutes.
- Top-ups are available on paid plans only.
- Unused minutes have no cash value, are not transferable, and are not refundable once bought, except where something went wrong on our side as described under Refunds above.
If we change prices
We may change our prices. If we do, the new price applies from your next renewal, not the period you are in, and we will tell you before it takes effect so that you can cancel first if you would rather not continue.
Ending your use of Jolle
You can delete your account from your account settings at any time. Doing so removes your videos and transcripts from our systems, and cancels any subscription you have so that nothing is charged afterwards.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that is being used in a way that damages the service for other people.
What we do not promise
Jolle is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and correct, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not promise that automatic transcription will be accurate.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we make a material change we will say so on this page and update the date at the top.
